Rio Short City Tour: Christ the Redeemer + Sugarloaf

It is erected atop the peak of Corcovado hill– a 710-meter (2,329-feet) granite mountain located in the Tijuca Forest. Significantly, the Christ the Redeemer statue was chosen as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World in the early 2000s.

Images of the Christ the Redeemer statue comprise some of the most famous photographs of Brazil. Hence, we’ll get to see the statue in real life and learn about its history on this tour! Afterward, we’ll head to the second and final destination of our Rio city tour. Between Corcovado and Sugarloaf, we’ll stop at a beautiful mirador on the way called the “Mirante Dona Marta” – a cliffside lookout located some distance below the Christ the Redeemer statue. This lookout undoubtedly has one of the most dazzling views of the city! It especially offers one of the best photo angles of the statue as well.

Sugarloaf Mountain is also one of the most famous mountains in Rio de Janeiro. Markedly, it is a 398-meters monolithic granite and quartz mountain rooted in the water’s edge around the city. Millions of travelers flock to Sugarloaf every year to enjoy the breathtaking views of surrounding beaches, mountains, and forests! To get there, we ride the cable car up, boarding from Praia Vermelha, Urca. The ride takes us up to Morro da Urca first. Then, we ride further to Pão de Açúcar Mountain where we’ll be at a 396-meter altitude. But don’t worry, there’s no need to be afraid of heights!

Thereafter, we’ll get to bask in the most mind-blowing views of Rio city. The views include the Christ the Redeemer Statue, Copacabana Beach, Tijuca Forest, Dois Irmãos, Pedra da Gavea, Serra dos Órgãos, Niterói, and much more! To conclude this superb half-day tour in Rio, we’ll descend the mountain via cable car as well. Finally, we’ll drop you off at your address by 12:00 pm or 6:00 pm.
